What is agentic SOAR?

Agentic SOAR is a security orchestration and response approach that combines traditional rule-based playbooks with AI agents that reason about context and decide dynamically, positioned as the successor to playbook-only SOAR.

What it means

Traditional SOAR executes predefined playbooks: when X happens, run steps Y and Z. Agentic SOAR adds reasoning agents that interpret context and adapt actions, blending deterministic automation for predictable tasks with adaptive AI for variable ones. Vendorsframing their products this way (CrowdStrike's Charlotte Agentic SOAR, others) are extending the SOAR category rather than replacing it.

Command Zero’s approach

How Command Zero handles Agentic SOAR.

Command Zero is not a SOAR, agentic or otherwise. There are no playbooks to author or maintain. Where agentic SOAR adds reasoning on top of a playbook engine, Command Zero starts from reasoning: the Question-based method selects relevant expert questions per investigation, with no playbook layer underneath. Organizations that want orchestrated response actions can pair Command Zero's investigation output with their existing SOAR; Command Zero supplies the governed investigation and verdict, not the playbook runtime.
